Rob Colbert, PhD, LPC-S

Dr. Rob Colbert (he/him/his) is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor (LPC-S) in Colorado and the owner-operator of An Enduring Love therapy practice in Fort Collins. Dr. Colbert also holds a handlers license with the Department of Revenue Natural Medicine Division.

 

Dr. Colbert provides ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) and talk therapy for individuals facing depression, anxiety, interpersonal challenges, psychological distress, and other life difficulties. Dr. Colbert specializes in working with young adults, those undergoing major life transitions, individuals using or considering psychoactive substances, and integrating profound ("big state") experiences, whether related to psychedelics, other substances, or intense life events.

His extensive expertise in psychedelic-assisted therapies includes:

  • Ketamine: Dr. Colbert completed intensive Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy training with the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI) in November 2019 and December 2020. He collaborates with medical prescribers to support KAP for recommended clients, has provided over 540 hours of direct clinical support to clients during ketamine experiences, and is a faculty trainer for Elemental Psychedelics’ clinical KAP training.

  • MDMA: In April 2022, he completed 100 hours of MDMA-Assisted Therapy (MDMA-AT) training and consultation with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Dr. Colbert served as a sub-investigator on Phase 3 clinical trials of MDMA-AT for PTSD, offering over 120 hours of clinical support to participants during MDMA experimental sessions. He was a Lykos trained MDMA-AT Training Consultant with Lykos Therapeutics, mentoring new therapists in the MAPS protocol, and also worked as a Consultant for Journey Colab, aiding in the development of clinical trials.

  • Psilocybin & Other Psychedelic Training: Dr. Colbert completed 200 hours of hybrid training in the Naropa Psychedelic Assisted Therapies program in December 2022. 

 

Dr. Colbert earned a Bachelor of Arts in Contemplative Psychology (2008) and a Master of Arts in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology (2012) from Naropa University. His graduate studies at Naropa focused on alternative approaches to medical psychiatry, adolescent and young adult development, sexuality and queer identities, and experiential psychotherapy. In 2018, he completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology and Social Change at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), where his doctoral research explored the experiences of adult couples who use MDMA recreationally and the perceived benefits of MDMA use on their relationships.

Describing himself as a "social artist," Dr. Colbert is passionate about professional education and training, community organizing, and acting as a social change agent. He co-founded The Nowak Society, a 501c3 nonprofit supporting people and communities in building empowered relationships with psychedelic medicines, and co-founded the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute in Fort Collins in 2019. Dr. Colbert also served as an instructor at Naropa University, where he developed the undergraduate course “Theories of Psychedelic Therapy.”
